This Saturday is National Picnic Day (is it even possible to plan a proper picnic during “summer” in San Francisco due to the foggy, windy and unpredictable weather?) and Safeway is planning to make some news by breaking the Guinness World Record for the Longest Picnic Table (spanning about 305 feet), and they’re doing it on the Marina Green. Let’s hope all the paper plates and napkins don’t blow away.

On hand will be Food Network Celebrity Chef Tyler Florence who will be cooking up a complimentary lunch featuring Open Nature products, Safeway’s new line of 100-percent natural foods, for nearly 500 picnic guests. A possible free lunch you say?
