As another San Francisco Beer Week winds down this weekend, the Anchor Brewing Company has unveiled its latest creation: the Brekle’s Brown.

The San Francisco brewer introduced the beer earlier this week as it celebrates its 140th anniversary.

Brewmaster Mark Carpenter’s recipe for Brekle’s Brown includes a special blend of roasted malts, inspired by Anchor’s past. For brewing and dry hopping, he chose a single, American hop variety called Citra, saying “the new hop matches perfectly… with the unique maltiness of Brekle’s Brown.”

The beer will be available at select locations in the Bay Area in February and March.
