Weekend Events

This weekend is chock full of great events. Here are some of the highlights: the Official Twilight Convention, SF Giants Fan Fest 2011, the OK Go Free Rooftop Concert and the Free Museum Weekend.

The Official Twilight Convention, Fri Feb 4 – Sun Feb 6

Yes, this is a real convention. Expect many Twi-hards to descend upon San Francisco. There’ll be booths, lots of photo-ops with various minor cast members and there’s even a Volturi Vampire Ball on Saturday night. If you don’t know what a Volturi is, you should probably skip the convention.

SF Giants Fan Fest 2011, Sat, Feb 5, 11am – 3pm

Now you can really celebrate the World Series winners. This annual event is a fan favorite and will feature autograph booths, clubhouse and dugout tours, advanced tickets sales, merchandise sales, and food. Plus, there’ll be free parking all day!

OK Go Free Rooftop Concert, Sat, Feb 5, Block Party 3:30pm, Concert 5:30pm

Those crazy OK Go kids…You know – the ones who had that music video where they rode and did amazing stunts on treadmills? Well, they are at it again and this time they are bringing the magic to San Francisco. They’ll be giving a free concert on top off the roof of the San Francisco Art Institute following a block party. It’s all a part of Yahoo’s Bus Stop Derby in which North Beach took the winning spot.

Free Museum Weekend, Sat Feb 5 – Sun Feb 6, all day

Do you have a Bank of America credit card or debit card? If so, you can get into eight museums in the Bay Area for FREE this weekend! Participating nuseums in SF include: Contemporary Jewish Museum, the Legion of Honor, the de Young, the Museum of African Diaspora, and Zeum. Nice!
