SF Appeal reports that the Great Highway will be closed early this week (today? tomorrow?) for clean-up. Apparently, sand from the beach and dunes has spread out on the roadway and poses a driving hazard. So, heads up if you’re traveling that way.

According to the Appeal, “The city’s Department of Public Works will close the Great Highway to vehicle traffic between Lincoln Way and Sloat Boulevard for one week beginning Monday. Traffic will be diverted between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. as crews trim vegetation from the medians to improve visibility.”
