Huey Lewis and The News
Wednesday, July 2, 7:30 p.m.
Marin County’s own Huey Lewis and The News opens the 2014 Marin County Fair! Rocking audiences worldwide for three decades, Huey Lewis and The News have sold over 20 million albums with a blend of pop, rock and soul music. These Grammy Award-winners have written and performed numerous Top Ten Hits including The Power of Love, which was nominated for an Academy Award and soared to #1 on Billboard’s singles chart. Their long list of hits include: The Heart of Rock and Roll, Do You Believe in Love, Workin’ for a Livin’, I Want a New Drug, If This Is It, Stuck with You, Hip to Be Square, and Doin’ It All for My Baby.

Orpheus
Thursday, July 3, 3:00 p.m.
Folk rock band Orpheus concert features their 1968 hit single “Can’t Find The Time” and favorites from their four influential and classic albums of the late 60’s and early 70’s. Orpheus emerged from the creative whirlwind of the 60’s and their seamless vocal harmonies are of timeless appeal. They performed during this era on bills with Cream, Janis Joplin, Led Zeppelin and The Who, among others.

The Wailers
Thursday, July 3, 7:30 p.m.
On the 30th anniversary of its release in 1984, The Wailers will perform the iconic album Legend in its entirety. Named by Time Magazine as the “Best Album of the 20th Century” and #46 on Rolling Stone Magazine’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, Legend is also the best-selling reggae album of all-time, with over 30 million copies sold worldwide.
Together with Bob Marley, The Wailers have sold over 250 million albums and have played to an estimated 24 million people across the globe. The anchor of the band is Aston “Family Man” Barrett, who was co-producer on many of Bob Marley’s records. The Wailers are undoubtedly the world’s premier reggae and world music group and will have you up and grooving all night long!

La Santa Cecilia
Friday, July 4, 3 p.m.
Named for the patron saint of musicians, La Santa Cecilia features accordionist and requintero Jose “Pepe” Carlos, bassist Alex Bendana, percussionist Miguel Ramirez, and lead vocalist La Marisoul. Widely embraced by critics and an ever-growing legion of fans as musical ambassadors of Los Angeles’ young bicultural population, La Santa Cecilia recently saw their album “Treinta Dias” win this year’s Grammy Award for “Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album” and named one of the best releases of 2013 by NPR, iTunes and more!
Now, fresh off their Grammy, La Santa Cecilia will launch their brand new album “Someday New” - featuring tracks, which include a heartfelt Spanglish rendition of The Beatles’ iconic “Strawberry Fields Forever”, the unforgettable Mexican classic “Como Dios Manda”, and the distinctively danceable new single “Cumbia Morada.”

March Fourth Marching Band
Friday, July 4, 7:30 p.m.
A kaleidoscope of musical and visual energy mere “mortal” bands cannot compete with. Aside from their marching band themed costumes, and multi member drum and brass corps, M4 is far from a “marching band” in any traditional sense (though this group of about 20 has been known to parade down Main Street before taking the stage). The show will take you on a journey from the swamps of Louisiana to the gypsy camps of eastern Europe and through the deepest grooves of American funk, rock, and jazz while boiling it all together in cinematic fashion with high-stepping stilt-acrobatics and dazzling dancers. The spectacular MarchFourth Marching Band will parade across the fairgrounds starting at 6 pm on July 4 – join in on the fun with their explosive drum battery!

BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet
Saturday, July 5, 3 p.m.
You’d have a tough time finding a band from New Orleans that doesn’t pay tribute to their home town, and equally hard pressed to find a band more steeped in the bayou tradition than BeauSoleil. Specializing in the Zydeco of the Louisiana Bayou, BeauSoleil carry the Creole torch nationwide.
Founded in 1975, BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet are one of the most well known bands playing in the Cajun and Creole tradition. They mix their swamp style with Tex-Mex, Country, Blues, and Rock switching elegantly between genre and language. Don’t be surprised if you hear English and Cajun French in the same song. Come on down and laissez le bon temps rouler avec BeauSoleil!

Night Ranger
Saturday, July 5, 7:30 p.m.
Classic rock fans will convene on Saturday, July 5 at the Marin County Fair for the rockin’ tunes of the Bay Area’s own Night Ranger. Night Ranger gained popularity with a series of popular albums and singles. The band’s first five albums sold more than 10 million copies worldwide and they are best known for the power ballad “Sister Christian”, “When You Close Your Eyes” and “(You Can Still) Rock in America.”
The band’s music can also be heard in the Rock Band and Guitar Hero video games, hit Broadway musical “Rock of Ages,” and the Oscar-nominated film “Boogie Nights.” Celebrating their 30th anniversary and currently playing to sold-out crowds around the world, Night Ranger is hot on the heels of their recent studio album, “Somewhere in California” and “24 Strings and a Drummer”.

Elvin Bishop
Sunday, July 6, 3 pm
Remembered as a founding member of the groundbreaking Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Marin County’s Elvin Bishop tasted pop success with his 1976 smash hit “Fooled Around and Fell In Love”. Bishop’s long and varied career has included other musical stops along the way, from deep down gutbucket blues played in smoky South Side Chicago taverns, to raucous roadhouse R&B, to rollicking good time rock & roll.

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
Sunday, July 6, 7:30 p.m.
Joan Jett is a legend in the rock ‘n’ roll world and an inspiration for female rockers everywhere. She broke into a genre dominated by men and showed she could be just as loud and tough as any of the guys. With her band, the Blackhearts, Jett became a hit machine in the 1980s, pumping out rock anthems like “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll,” “I Hate Myself for Loving You” and “Crimson and Clover.” Jett is one of only two women to make Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time and she has been nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts bring their gritty, glitzy brand of rock ‘n ‘roll to close the 2014 Marin County Fair on Sunday, July 6.
