In January 2004, a little music venue threw open its doors on an unassuming stretch of Fell Street in San Francisco's Hayes Valley. Over the years, a slew of amazing bands have graced its stage, from rock icons like Jonathan Richman and the Undertones, to other huge indie acts like M.I.A., Vampire Weekend, Toro y Moi, Freelance Whales, Akron/Family, The Dirtbombs, Fool's Gold, The Limousines, Pierced Arrows, Tokyo Police Club, Wavves, El Guincho, Matmos, A Place to Bury Strangers, Delphic, Lady Sovereign, Junip, Starfucker, Washed Out, Yacht, Zee Avi, Glass Candy, Silversun Pickups, The Shout Out Louds, Diplo, Trans Am, DJ Funk, Jonathan Richman, Matthew Dear, Jolie Holland, Dengue Fever, The Lucksmiths, Sean Hayes, and Blaqk Audio.

Rickshaw Stop is a 4000 square-foot (including 1000 sq ft mezzanine) former TV studio, with full bar and food service. High ceilings, giant red curtains, and vintage rickshaws afford a quirky coziness to the space, which includes a ventilated smoking lounge, foosball table, balcony, and for certain events, a coatcheck and upstairs bar. The sound system is first-rate for a venue our size, and any event can be all ages! We typically book 6 weeks to 4 months in advance.
