Liss n' Sams : Joe Liss & Marcus Sams & KIRK BALTZ
About Kirk Baltz: A working actor since the late 1980s, Kirk Baltz is perhaps most famous for playing the part of Marvin Nash, the tortured police officer in Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs(1992). To prepare for the role, Baltz asked co-star Michael Madsen to drive him around in the trunk of Madsen's car. Baltz has also appeared in films like Dances with Wolves (1990), Natural Born Killers(1994), Face/Off (1997), and Bulworth (1998). He has also been a familiar face on television, with roles on TV shows like NYPD Blue (1993) and 24 (2001).
Joe Liss and Marcus Sams first performed together in a Leela show and they instantly felt the improv Karma that transformed into Liss n’ Sams! Since then they have improvised all over the country. Joe is a Second City alumnus and has appeared on TV in Hidden America with Jonah Ray, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Strangers With Candy. Film roles include God Bless America, Wayne’s World II, Home Alone 2, and Major League. Among his writing credits are Third Rock From the Sun, SpongeBob Squarepants, and Drawn Together. Marcus is the Artistic Director of Moment Improv Theatre, the co-founder of the Bay Area Film Mixer and a working actor. He has performed in 60+ national improv festival shows, was a member of the critically-acclaimed group, Oui Be Negroes, and has performed with Leela for over decade.
SLAM: Jason Leal & Tim Orr
Simply put, the improvisers start a new scene each time that there’s the sound effect of a door opening/closing. Scenes are mostly unrelated. The improvisers, Jason Leal and Tim Orr, hail from San Francisco. Collectively, they have performed together in countless formats, including musicals, murder mysteries, Harolds, and many others. They share a common passion for character, “where work” and narrative in improv, and are known both across the country and abroad for their performances, instruction and innovations in the art of improvisation.
Cardiff Giants: Chad Stockdale and Michael Davenport
Cardiff Giants are Chad Stockdale and Michael Davenport and they are a couple of improv geeks who geek out over all things film. Their show is a comedic homage to all the great filmmakers and silver screen stars and starlets throughout Hollywoods storied history.
Chad Stockdale has improvising for 4 years. He has worked with Morpho Theater and Cap City improv. His favorite improv book is Scene from the Inside Out by Mick Napier. He currently enjoys performing in a duo called Cardiff Giants with his first ever improv coach, the delightful Michael Davenport.
Michael Davenport has been improvising for 20 years. He is the founder of Magic Jester Theater and Morpho Theater. He currently teaches for Leela and directs the Leela PIE group Emotionally Available. Lately, Michael has enjoyed acting on camera and is the lead in Poster Boy a black and white comedic silent film directed by Guillermo Gomez.
