The Park City Jazz Festival

In addition to providing an opportunity to check out some jazz tunes, The Park City Jazz Festival is essentially a fundraiser that is dedicated to promoting jazz music education. All profits are to help fund educational music programs. The festival takes place at the Deer Valley Resort Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater. The jazz festival features acts on two different stages, a vendor village with local business vendors, and a beer garden. For those sitting on the outskirts of the festival’s stages, there is a live videoboard broadcast of all performances.

The Park City Jazz Festival also hosts a variety of “clinics,” that teach interested adults and students about jazz, including everything from composition, technique and history. If you attend a Saturday clinic, you’ll receive a complimentary General Admission ticket to attend the Park City Jazz Festival for the rest of the day. All clinics are free and open to the public. Check back for the 2009 Clinic Schedule on (http://www.parkcityjazz.org/festival/festival-clinics.html). Pre-registering for clinics is encouraged, and you may do so by calling 435-940-1362.
