* Bengan bhartha, the smooth, rich (and addictive) smoked eggplant entree from Bombay Indian restaurant on Market in the Castro; they deliver!

* Crisp-edged buckwheat crepes with velvety mushroom sauce and the giant salade crudite from Ti Couz.

* Mac and cheese to go from Seller's Market at Front and Pine downtown. It's extra creamy, with Point Reyes blue thrown in for punch.

* Shoestring fries and beer at Liverpool Lil's near the Presidio.

* Homemade avocado dressing: juice of half a lemon and half a lime, a clove of parboiled garlic, a shallot, a big spoonful of sour cream, salt,
pepper, and an avocado, whipped together in a food processor. Adjust citrus to taste.

* Wild smoked salmon and fried eggs over medium on whole wheat English muffins, topped with a touch of avocado dressing. Yum.
