Summer Camp - Financial Literacy for High School Youth

Monday thru Friday, July 10 -July 14, 2017, 8:30am to 12:30pm
Financial Aptitude Training, FiAT, has partnered with California Society of CPAs (CalCPA) to bring Financial Literacy to our community. 2017 marks the fourth year of our Financial Literacy for Youth (FLY) Summer Camp, a free one-week program offered to high school students. Seating is limited and enrollment is on a first come, first served basis.
Program topics:
Money Management: control your cash flow -- students learn how to manage personal spending to meet financial goals, and strategies to minimize the impact of financial obstacles.
Use, Don’t Abuse -- Activities guide students to take responsibility for their own borrowing habits and establish behaviors that will improve the likelihood of credit approval and mindful use of credit.
Earning Power: More than a Paycheck ---Students learn that planning for their future success is the most important investment they can make. They explore how career choices impact earning potential, and consider their own marketable skills and interests.
Investing: Money Working for You -- Teens learn how to put personal assets to work to build personal wealth. The activities in this module are designed to help students examine investing options and strategies so they can start reaping the benefits of accumulating assets and investing at an early age.
