Simone Leitão International Tour at SF Conservatory of Music

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Known for her intense vitality, ample technical means, strong rhythmic drive, and fire in her performances, Simone Leitão continues to rise as one of the most exciting pianists of her generation to emerge from Brazil. She holds an active career as a soloist in the Americas, Europe, and China. Leitão is the Artistic Director of Brasil Classical, an organization that promotes Brazil's symphonic music, its composers and interpreters, and fosters Brazil's music education program by donating the proceeds of the concerts to purchase quality instruments for young Brazilian musicians.

Since her debut in Rio de Janeiro at the Brazilian Conservatory Concert Hall, she has performed in major halls internationally, and was laureated at many important national and South American international competitions. She has frequently performed as a soloist and chamber musician in Brazil, the USA, Denmark, Switzerland, Germany, and Norway and toured with Grammy Award winner, Norwegian violinist Ole Böhn in Brazil.

During this tour, Simone Leitão will perform Bach, Ravel, Gershwin, Mehmari, Villa-Lobos, and Rachmaninoff.

This live event in San Francisco is part of Simone Leitão's International Tour; made possible by the Brazilian Ministry of Culture and CCR Institute. After LACMA Sundays Live at the Los Angeles Country Museum of Art on Nov 11, she plays at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music on Nov 18, her last performance in the west coast.
