WHAT: NewPark Mall announces Jan Small as the featured artist for its December Cultural Corner. Small’s art has been exhibited nationally and internationally, seen on television, published in newspapers and magazines, and purchased for public and private collections throughout the United States including Hawaii, England, Israel, New Zealand. In addition, Small’s exhibit will host artwork the Fremont Area Writers' Group book signing on November 28 and 29 at the Cultural Corner as well as feature students in Small’s Prophetic Art Workshops. A free public reception will be held on December 12.
About Fremont Area Writers' Group Book Signing: Over Black Friday weekend the Fremont Area Writers' Group will have a book signing from 10am-6pm on both Friday, Nov. 28 and Saturday, Nov. 29 with an open mic from 2pm-4pm, where authors will either tell about their books or read excerpts from them. The public is invited to meet the authors.
About Jan Small: Jan Small’s art has been exhibited nationally and internationally, seen on television, published in newspapers and magazines, and purchased for public and private collections throughout the United States including Hawaii, England, Israel, New Zealand. Small as lectured and demonstrated to art associations, churches and Christian organizations. Small taught art classes through College of Holy Names, Oakland, CA, Fremont School District, Fremont Recreation Department. She taught special classes to the mentally and physically handicapped, to senior citizens and to abandoned and abused children at Alameda County Juvenile Hall. She continues to hold weekly classes in her studio where she also facilitates workshops in painting prophetic art.
