Alain Octavo

Alain Octavo is renown for his dynamic style of electronic music, showcasing various sounds of house, techno and trance. Though he is often acknowledged for his talent to organize a great production, it is his array of music spanning two decades that encourages him to push the possibilities of dance music.

An integral part of San Francisco’s dance culture, Alain began his profession in 1995 producing underground events at legendary venues around the San Francisco Bay Area. By the following year, his innovative ideas created a growing kinship with industry professionals throughout California co-producing events the west coast has never experienced and shattering every attendance record to date.

During the cultural rise, Alain became more influenced to get on deck and take control.

“I’ve been collecting records for almost two decades and at any point I really could have attempted the DJ thing much sooner by just booking myself at my own parties, but I didn’t feel that was the right way for me to go about it.”

With that being said, he followed patience to craft a unique and versatile skill, representing the diversity of electronic music at intimate parties. Early past the turn of the millennium, his experience and talent presented him the opportunity to handle marketing responsibilities for internationally renowned promoters Spundae. Since then Alain has assisted Spundae in winning 3 international awards.

2002 Dancestar voted Best Club/Club Night
2005 International Dance Music Awards voted Best U.S Club
2006 International Dance Music Awards voted Best Event Promoter

Following Spundae’s recent accomplishment at 2006’s Winter Music Conference in Miami, Alain Octavo was announced as the next resident DJ for Spundae in San Francisco. It’s been almost a decade since Spundae has announced a resident represent their name. Along with this prestige title Alain Octavo has shared billing with global pioneers such as: Carl Cox, Basement Jaxx, Markus Schulz, Roger Sanchez, Scumfrog, Peace Division, Eddie Halliwell, James Zabiela and Derrick Carter, traveling through over a dozen countries on 3 continents.

“People often ask me what it is that I do and really when it comes down to it, I express and communicate everything I love about electronic music and its dance culture”
