Landmark Embarcadero Center Cinema Re-Opening November 1

After being closed for nearly four months, the fully renovated Landmark Embarcadero Center Cinema is scheduled to reopen on November 1. During the shut down, the entire cinema was completely remodeled and upgraded.

Upgrades include seven auditoriums with leather-style seating, four screening lounges with luxury recliners, reserved seating, gourmet concessions, and a brand new wine and beer lounge. If some of that sounds vaguely familiar, it looks as if the Sundance Kabuki in Japantown will have a new rival for the most luxurious and patron friendly theaters in San Francisco — and that’s never a bad thing.

Despite the cosmetic changes coming to the Embarcadero Center Cinemas, it will still offer the same great film selections San Franciscans have come to expect and enjoy — Oscar front runner 12 Years A Slave and this year’s Palme d’Or winner from Cannes, Blue Is The Warmest Color will be among the first films to screen after the ribbon is cut.
