SF Music Day is a free, daylong music festival presenting 35 Bay Area ensembles in early music, chamber music, new music, jazz, and creative music.
The festival celebrates ten years this fall, and showcases the diversity and range of the Bay Area music community, from traditional classical and chamber music to innovative new sounds in jazz and beyond.
Join us for the 10th anniversary of SF Music Day, one of the Bay Area's top free music festival, located in downtown San Francisco. SF Music Day celebrates the diverse and dynamic music of our region, from string quartets to jazz combos, traditional chamber groups to new music pioneers, Bay Area musicians dedicated to exploring the traditional Western canon, or steeped in the sounds of India, Latin America and the Philippines.
With fresh young talents sharing the stage with seasoned veterans, SF Music Day presents a kaleidoscopic vision of Bay Area music making.
Come with open ears, to experience all that our vibrant music community has to offer!
This year's festival features 35 ensembles on four stages in the ornate San Francisco War Memorial Veterans Building in downtown San Francisco, and a special series of moderated discussions reflecting on Bay Area music making over the past decade. Local food truck vendors will be parked outside the hall all day.
SF Music Day is presented by InterMusic SF, formerly the San Francisco Friends of Chamber Music, supporting the Bay Area small ensemble community since 1998.
