Housepitality fans who are DJs, dance music enthusiasts, or music dorks in general will recognize the Trus'me name, as this Manchester-based artist has been responsible for many of the amazing, forward-thinking cuts popular in our scene today. Collaborating with past Housepitality guests (and house music heavyweights) Chez Damier, Alton Miller, and many other names from the moment (Motor City Drum Emsemble, Dam Funk, Amp Fiddler), Trus'me has a pedigree that is simply undeniable.

The name "Trus'me" is, of course, related to the words "Trust me," something you want to hear from a DJ who is about to curate the best in house, techno, soul, and funk, directly to your ears.... and in this case, you can trust David Wolstencraft (aka Trus'me) to do exactly that; he's a big name, an incredible producer, and someone we're extremely proud and honored to host.

To open for an artist of this stature, we've brought out our best as well: Tyrel Williams, a vinyl maven, a Chicago-trained and SF-tempered, world-class artist and crate-digger, who will be tagging with a very special guest (who we can't announce) for a full 3 hour opening set. At this point, most of you have heard Tyrel's DJ sets, and for those who have, you can skip to the next paragraph. But if you haven't, let's get you on the (soul) train: Tyrel is amazing, and a great guy to boot. From Chicago's Smart Bar and Acid Test parties, to SF's underground, and our very special Housepitality night, Tyrel is one of the most entertaining, skilled, and knowledgeable DJs around. And as to our special guest... you'll just have to trust us that you know him, you love him, and he won't ever let you down.

JP Soul, aka Jason Peters, founded SF's Roam Recordings, and has the depth of knowledge, the deep crates, the best attitude, and some of the better dance moves among our deeply-talented local crew. Whether house, deep house, soul, funk, disco... he can make the crowd move, and will keep our Groove Lounge funkin' hard, all night long. We are big fans of JP, and we know you'll be as well. That's why we keep having him back, time after time.

Happy Wednesday folks!

With his love for music tracing way back to an early age by dabbling with various instruments and then moving on to develop a passion for record collecting, Trus’me found his calling after learning the art of mixing and sample digging. Surrounded by the heads of Manchester and its deep rooted music scene, one couldn’t deny that it was an effortless task to be exposed to good music from all genres, thus explaining his constantly evolving tastes as evident in his eclectic DJ sets as well as in his uniquely, diverse productions. “Like bookends some 12’s will work with both the beginning and the end of the night, such is the classy sampling from Trus’me” (Peter Nicholson, XLR8R).

The much reputed CD sampler “Nards” that was responsible for initialing releases on Chicago’s Still Music label, inevitably sparked off Trus’me’s promising musical career. Seeing support from respected names such as Ashley Beedle, Juan Atkins, Mad Matts, Gilles Peterson and Chez Damier plus his productions selling out at record stores from Manchester to Tokyo, led to the highly successful release of his debut album, “Working Nights”, on Fat City Recordings, that’s hailed by most to be a timeless album, still finding devotees to this day.

Not one to rest on his laurels, the label Prime Numbers was set up and quickly gained an unfaltering reputation for highly collectable and exceptional music from artistes such as Move D, Actress, Linkwood, Fudge Fingas, Motorcity Drum Ensemble; all artistes that fit the ethos and style that Trus’me continues to carry a torch for. In 2009, his highly anticipated follow-up album, “In The Red” that featured the likes of Chez, Damier, Amp Fiddler and Dam Funk further cemented his place in the House scene and set off a flurry remixes for acts such as LCD Soundsystem, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Alton Miller, Anthony Shake Shakir and more, including non-stop touring to clubs and festivals alike in Asia, Australia, Canada, Europe, North America, South America and of course, in his backyard, the city of Manchester where it all began.

Tyrel Williams

Tyrel has been a mainstay of Chicago’s underground House scene for years. He began mixing records in 1999. Soon later he landed a job at Gramaphone Records where he spent the last decade building a mighty collection of 12” dance records. He spent 2009-2011 building his Acid Test residency at Smart Bar, which is an ongoing all vinyl House / Techno weekly dedicated to the true art form of DJing. Guests have included Miles Maeda, Derrick Carter, Tevo Howard, Traxx, and Justin Long. Tyrel has recently moved to San Francisco where he is a resident DJ for Housepitality and has also started his Acid Test SF party with Bryan Bai-ee, Miguel Solari, Fil Latorre, and Luke Nasaw.
