ELEVATION is a brand new party series! Curated by renowned DJ and crate-digger Renoir (aka Ren the Vinyl Archaeologist), the event blends soulful-house, disco-house and global soul. ELEVATION brings together a diverse and passionate crowd of music lovers who come to dance, connect, and immerse themselves in sounds that honor the past while embracing the future. ERIC GROOVE
Dj, promoter, event organizer, and dabbles in percussion.
Eric has been a major contributor in the house music scene of Oakland. What started out as him helping bring "Grooves in the Park" from Stockton to Oakland in 2006, to house parties at his pad in the yard in 2008, has sparked those to be on another level and motivation that led to so much more.
Co-founder of "(ATM) About The Music" crew established in 2009, which brought many events that were felt to be missing in the Bay Area/Oakland area. Events such as: "Backyard Boogie at ATM House", Deeper Side of Soul" dance party, "Waveforms" Boat Party, "Groovin' In The Park" park party, and Oaktoberfest's "Dancing in the Dimond" street festival are some of his residencies you can hear him play...as well as appearance's in various venues/events in the Bay Area...including "Culture, Boardwalk Boogie, Move!, SoulCamp, and Days Like This". He is also the Bay Area affiliate for West Coast Weekender that happens every year in San Diego. His style of music selections range from Deep, Soulful, Afro & Classic - House, to Roots & Culture, Rocksteady, Rub-a Dub, Lovers Rock, Dancehall - Reggae, and more.
About The Music is dedicated to the promotion of house music and its culture. ATM has been creating a positive community vibe through music, dance, and art at their events in Oakland.
REN THE VINYL ARCHAEOLOGIST
As a Bay Area resident hailing from New York, Ren the Vinyl Archaeologist (aka Renoir) made his mark as the founder of True Skool (est. '99). Originally a party that featured Hip Hop legends, emerging artists, and world-class turntablists, the brand has evolved into a music entertainment guide and event marketing company. As a DJ, Ren is known for his eclectic and diverse musical selections. He has shared billing with world-renowned artists, such as Z-Trip, Jazzy Jeff, Q-Bert, Mixmaster Mike, Wu-Tang Clan, Black Thought, Rakim, Masters at Work, Nightmares on Wax, Moby, KRS-One, to name a few. Overall, Ren the Vinyl Archaeologist is a highly respected and influential figure in the hip-hop and music community, known for his passion, creativity, and commitment to preserving the legacy of hip hop.
