In 2013, influential Mexican rockers El Tri continued their decade-spanning reign over Latin American music with the release of a Grammy-nominated new album, Ojo por Ojo . Releasing more than 30 albums over the last 40 years, El Tri have carried the torch for a generation of Latin rock bands, becoming as legendary for their hard-rocking live shows as they are for their recordings. Featuring drum solos, costumed Aztec dancers, and the preening showmanship of frontman Alex Lora, the band's 2013 tour dates were equal parts substance and spectacle, building excitement for another round of shows in 2014.

More Bio Info: Formed by singer Alex Lora in 1968, El Tri released their first 15 albums as Three Souls in My Mind before changing their name in 1985. The band's early work consisted mainly of English-language covers of American rock songs, however the changing attitudes of Mexico's youth culture led the band to begin performing songs in Spanish in the '70s. The shift struck a chord with disgruntled young rockers, boosting the band's popularity and leading to a string of working-class rock albums throughout the '70s and '80s. With the release of Simplemente In 1985, El Tri became the first Mexican rock outfit to score a gold record, setting the stage for their ever-increasing popularity throughout North and South America.

~~~~~~~~
ALEX LORA and his group was originally called THREE SOULS IN MY MIND who arised at the end of the 60s, pioneering the movement of "Rock en Espanol" (Rock music in Spanish). However, at the beginning of his career, his songs were composed in English and not until the release of his third album, LORA decided to compose in Spanish because it was important that his public understood the message in his songs.
Singing in Spanish gave Mexican rock music its own identity, "Rock and Roll Made in Mexico" achieving to become the new flag of the youth because the lyrics contained protests against the bad government officials, the abuse of power, the neglected children of the streets, heartbreaks and day-to-day things.
