Audio is excited to introduce a new series of parties called, Breakout. Breakout will feature artists on the verge of becoming big, household names in the dance music scene. Lineups will be stacked with talent we believe are on the cutting edge of their genre. Breakout's music format will fluctuate between house, deep house, techno, nu disco, and underground. This a rare opportunity to catch three to four DJs under one roof for a reasonable ticket price. Our first installment will feature shallou, Colour Vision, and Mahalo with local support from Manics, and Michael Milano. We hope you enjoy the new concept and can look back one day and say that you saw these huge names all together in one night at Audio."
Currently located in Chicago and previously in New Orleans, Shallou is a mix of soulful vocals, ambient textures and dance rhythms that carves a niche in the electronic and indie scenes. Shallou has been noticed by the likes of the Fader, Complex, Spin, Indie Shuffle and Hype Machine. Shallou's 2016 singles "Heights" and "Doubt" received heavy rotation on Sirius XM Chill, and the latter has racked up 9 million plays to date, with plans to release a new EP in Spring 2017. In the span of two years, Shallou has toured with Petit Biscuit, Roosevelt, El Ten Eleven and more.
"Producer Shallou has risen out of the bayou with a haunting and enchanting eclectic sound" - Earmilk
"...a heady concoction of pitched down vocals, fizzy samples, and throbbing percussion" - The Fader
"you'll be stuck with a stark duality: sadness from his melancholic vocal tone, and warmth from his completely engaging dance-infused production" - Hillydilly
Colour Vision -
??? COLOUR VISION is a DJ and producer hailing from sunny San Diego. He has opened for acts such as Cut Copy, The Magician, Miami Horror, Rory Phillips, The Juan Maclean, Jacques Renault, Todd Edwards, Plastic Plates, Goldroom, Ladytron, Human Life, Midnight Magic, Sneaky Sound System, Hercules & Love Affair, G.L.O.V.E.S., & Grum. Years of sweaty dancefloor experience led him towards a distinct tropical house and disco sound that he radiates throughout California and beyond the solar system.
His journey into the world of production began after years of thrill seeking and soul searching in paradise. What began with a series of disco edits has led to the creation of his first original track that was released August, 2012; "Sur Chic" a nu-disco/deep house hybrid that exudes the tropical dance spirit that the name COLOUR VISION has grown to embody.
Few have been able to accomplish what Mahalo has done in such a short period of time. Hailing from the shores of Hawai’i and setting up shop in Southern California, this young producer has quickly solidified himself as one of the newest rising stars to emerge from the Los Angeles dance music scene. Drawing inspiration from several styles and artists has allowed him to blur the lines sonically, creating cutting edge material that pays homage to the past while always pushing to be progressive. In just a little over a year since launching onto the scene, Mahalo has garnered the support of many renowned artists such as EDX, My Digital Enemy, Listenbee, Nora En Pure, MAKJ, and Sam Feldt. The label support is just as impressive, having releases on some of the world's most esteemed imprints such as Armada Music, Spinnin' Records, No Definition, Mark Knight's Toolroom Records and Kiesza's label Lokal Legend. However, his track record doesn't stop there - Mahalo has maintained consistent chart-topping success with nearly every release on platforms such as Beatport, Hype Machine and SoundCloud. More recently, he has seen overwhelming support from Spotify's taste makers and curators, landing features on some of their most coveted and exclusive dance music playlists. The unique and signature style of Mahalo has earned him the respect of many in both the underground dance music scene as well as the more popular factions of the entertainment industry, proving that we're only witnessing the beginning of what this special LA-talent will bring to the music scene and the dance floor.
