SF Station Blows It Up

1. Robyn @ Bimbo’s, San Francisco May 16, 2008

If you haven’t heard of Robyn yet, I'm not sure where you have been. From David Letterman to The View the electro pop songstress has been blowing minds. This night was no different; from the first step she took onto the stage, the crowd screamed and danced with their hands in the air. Performing songs from her self-titled CD, with songs like “Who’s that Girl”, not only can this woman sing but she also has a hell of a stage presence.

2. Lykke Li @ Bimbo’s, San Francisco, May 18, 2008

The Swedish invasion is here and last Sunday night there was nothing more apparent with El Perro Del Mar, Lykke Li and Anna Ternheim hitting the stage for one amazing show. With a mix of sounds and genres that seemed to work like a Transformer, the three songstresses kicked some serious ass. Coming to the show I only knew one of them, Lykke Li, so I knew that at least one of the artists would be kick ass but I got a treat when all three blew my mind. In my eyes this was one of the best tours of 2008.

3. M83 @ Great American Music Hall, San Francisco, May 21, 2008

I wasn’t going to cover this show until my friend Aaron Axelson from Live105 said that he was going so I thought this might be something good. The last time I saw M83 it was a little too slow for my taste. This time, I am so glad I went and I was so wrong before. With great guitar licks and amazing electronic beats, M83 just brought it. Playing songs from their new album Saturdays=Youth the boys from France made even me pay attention.
