SF Station Blows It Up

1. Robert Smith of The Cure @ the Download Festival, Shoreline Amphitheater, Mountain View, October 6, 2007

The world's most branded festival returned to the Shoreline last Saturday with some heavy hitters: The Cure, AFI, BRMC, She Wants Revenge, Metric and Kings of Leon, just to name a few. I don’t really know how many people actually came to the show; it looked mellow but all the bands did a great job.

2. Frank Black @ Café Du Nord, San Francisco, October 9, 2007

Black Francis better known as Frank Black of The Pixies hit the stage a Café Du Nord on Tuesday night for the first of a 3 night stay with a crowd screaming his name and waiting in anticipation. He definitely did not disappoint. He performed some old stuff that made me feel nostalgic, and even some new tunes that made you feel young and punk again.

3. Justice @ Mezzanine, San Francisco, October 10, 2007

Justice, the French duo that took the world by storm, returned to a very sold out Mezzanine and ripped it a new hole. With a dope stage set up, great lighting and catchy tunes the twosome made you feel young again. This was a very unpredictable crowd; I have shot a lot of shows and have been in plenty of crazy crowds but this one was so ready to rage they broke down the barricade just to get a foot closer to the stage. It was well worth it -- hearing “D.A.N.C.E.” as every person in the place sang along to every word was f***king amazing.
