SF Station Blows It Up

1. Maja of The Sounds @ The Fillmore, San Francisco, September 18, 2007

Trying to get into the crowd to get a good spot to shoot The Sounds should have been a sign of things to come with fans squished to the front of the stage and air so hot that from the first set I was sweating. Being at the front when Maja and the boys hit the stage was pretty amazing because it felt like I was standing inside a wave that moved from side to side. With songs like “Living in America” and “Ego” the crowed was swept into an almost epileptic trance. So if you have never seen these guys I really think you should.

2. The New Pornographers @ The Warfield, San Francisco, September 17, 2007

The New Pornographers hit the stage at The Warfield to a crowd eagerly waiting for the music to fill their ears and man did they get it. The guitars drums and keys filled the air and made everyone's feet move.

3. Two Gallants @ Treasure Island Music Festival, San Francisco, September 16, 2007

The inaugural Treasure Island Music Festival rocked the bay area last weekend and showed the world why San Francisco is the best place for live music. With amazing sets by Thievery Corporation, West Indian Girl, Ghostland Observatory, MIA and many more on day one, as well as rocking riffs by Spoon, Devil Makes Three, M Ward, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and much more on day two. I have to say one of my biggest highlights was watching the homecoming of The Two Gallants in front of thousands of people, as they played old and new song from the upcoming self-titled album out September 25th on Saddle Creek records.
