SF Station Blows It Up

1. Blaqk Audio @ Popscene, 330 Ritch, San Francisco, August 30, 2007

Popscene does it again with the first ever live appearance by Blaqk Audio. The brainchild of AFIís Davey Havok and Jade Puget rocked 330 Ritch last Thursday night. Kids flew in from all over the US and camped outside of the tiny venue for hours just to be in the front row, being in the front myself they got their moneyís worth. The boys performed music from their debut album CexCells out now.

2. Ben Kweller @ Bottom of the Hill , San Francisco, September 4, 2007

Brooklyn-based San Francisco born rocker Ben Kweller hit the small stage at Bottom of the Hill and killed it, performing songs from his 3 new albums. I have to say standing in the middle of the crowd as every person around me sang along with every word was a very great feeling. Benís personality comes across in every note and word that floats off the stage and thatís something that is pretty unique.

3. Common @ Mezzanine, San Francisco, September 5, 2007

One of hip hop's most prolific MCís hit the stage at Mezzanine promoting his new album Finding Forever. With full band backing him, a few costume changes, smooth beats and fast rhymes he drove the crowd wild. Common's infectious lyrics flew out of him like a river and if you were at Mezzanine you were drowned.
