SF Station Blows It Up

1. The Redwalls @ Café Du Nord, San Francisco, August 10, 2007

The Redwalls are a product of The Windy City and they proved it last Friday at Du Nord with a sound that mixed the Beatles with the Ramones and Bob Dylan with Joy Division. Logan Baren’s voice and guitar and his brother Justin’s vocals and bass drive you to listen, dance and scream all at once.

2. J-Billions @ Sneaker Pimps, Mighty, San Francisco, August 11, 2007

The world traveling sneaker circus called the Sneaker Pimps hit San Francisco’s Mighty last Saturday night with a shoe gallery and some amazing hip hop artists. The legendary DJ Kid Kapri opened the show with some floor stomping hits, followed by SF's own J-Billions hitting the stage with fat rhymes. Too Short headlined the show and from the first second his lips hit the mic the crowd went nuts. Short performed hit after hit and then delivered the cherry to top the cake with The Dem Hood Starz coming on stage to close his set.

3. Romeo Stodart and Michele Stodart of The Magic Numbers @ Great American Music Hall, San Francisco, August 15, 2007

The UK’s The Magic Numbers returned to San Francisco on Wednesday night promoting their new album Those the Brokes. The mix of rock, pop, and psychedelica flowed like a river flooding the ears. Michele’s amazing bass and Romeos voice moved me to dance with every note and pull of string.
