SF Station Blows It Up

1. Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins @ The Fillmore, San Francisco, July 15, 2007

The return of the Smashing Pumpkins to the Bay Area was marked with a 3 hour 7 minute set on Sunday July 15 as they began their 12 day residency at The Fillmore -- and what a show it was! The first time I saw the Pumpkins was as the Tibetan Freedom Festival in Golden Gate Park, and I have to say, man, do they still sound good...Both Billy and Jimmy killed it. Billy and the guys performed some old classics as well as songs from their new album Zeitgeist.

2. Rouge Wave @ Café Du Nord, San Francisco, July 14, 2007

Driving up to Café Du Nord last weekend one hour before the show started, I thought there would be few people outside but what I saw was a line a block long of people waiting to maybe get in because the show was already sold out. Well I shouldn’t have been surprised since it was Rouge Wave and Spoon performing under the same roof. The boys from Rouge Wave played some never before heard songs from their upcoming album out this Fall. The crowd was most definitely into it. Spoon killed it as well with old classics and new tunes.

3. Adam of The Shout Out Louds @ Rickshaw Stop, San Francisco, July 18, 2007

The Swedes returned Bay side for the first time in a year and a half with a sold out show that blew the doors off the Rickshaw Stop. The kids from Stockholm played a brilliant set comprised of new tunes from their album out in September on Merge Records and old classics like “The Comeback” that made the kids dance, dance, dance.
