SF Station Blows It Up

1. Kaiser Chiefs @ Live 105’s BFD, Shoreline Amphitheater, Mountain View, June 9, 2007

Live 105’s BFD hit Shoreline Amphitheater with a vengeance last Saturday with 25 bands that ranged from local favorites like Street to Nowhere to legends of punk Social Distortion. Electro punk favorites The Faint closed the Budweiser stage with some old classics and new tunes that made the crowd freak out and dance. In my eyes, The Kaiser Chiefs stole the show on the main stage with their usual antics, acrobatics and amazing tunes.

2. CSS @ BFD After Party, Mezzanine, San Francisco, June 9, 2007

Brazilian rockers CSS preformed to a sold out show at Mezzanine at the BFD after party last Saturday night. LOVEFOXXX belted out amazing tunes like “ Off the Hook” and Let’s “Make Love” while the rest of the band backed her with amazing guitars and drums. I also have to add that to watch these guys on stage is a pleasure because of their freak outs.

3. Smoosh @ Rickshaw Stop, June 12, 2007

Walking into the Rickshaw Stop Tuesday night I expected to see some good bands but I didn’t expect to see virtuosos named Smoosh. The two 12 and 13-year olds blew my mind performing intelligent and complex tunes that drove the entire place to stomp their feet. To top it all off, their younger sister joined them on stage playing a bass that was bigger then her. These teens simply killed it.
