SF Station Blows It Up

1. Win Butler of The Arcade @ Greek Theater, Berkeley, June 1, 2007

Arcade Fire performed the first of two sold out shows at Berkeley’s Greek Theater last Friday night. This being the second to last show of their current tour promoting their new album Neon Bible they put it all out and you could definitely see it. Richard Reed did something crazy like jumping into the aisle with a drum while Win's voice rang out over the screaming crowd. With amazing visuals and a sound so unique they simply killed it.

2. The Raveonettes @ Café Du Nord, San Francisco, June 2, 2007

The Danish duo played a little club in the city and proved why they are the king and queen of garage. They played some new tunes for the first time and really impressed me with complicated rhythms and notes. They played a cover of Sonic Youth's "100%" that was better than the original. Sharin and Sune move and sing as if they were one person.

3. John Mayer @ HP Pavilion, June 5, 2007

With an opening artist like Ben Folds and a packed house screaming his name, John Mayer hit the stage. Mayer’s face contorted as he performed backed by a full band on electric and acoustic guitars. Women and girls screamed "We love you John!" to every note. John and co. are on the road promoting his new album Continuum.
