SF Station Blows It Up

1. The Gipsy Kings @ Masonic Auditorium, San Francisco, May 18, 2007

One of France's most famous musical exports hit the stage in front of a full house at San Francisco’s Masonic Center last Friday night. As always six guitars sounded in unison as the crowd oohed and aahed to every string that was struck. The Kings performed songs from their new album Pasajero released last September.

2. Ben Gibbard @ The Fillmore, San Francisco, May 18, 2007

Ben Gibbard's, of Death Cab for Cutie-fame, solo performance was completely sold out. Once Ben walked out it was a mix of acoustic Death Cab songs a few Nirvana Covers and a special performance by Jenny Lewis of Postal Service. Ben did have one crazed fan that kinda bugged all of us and even took her top off but overall it was a hell of a show and musical treat.

3. Albert Hammond Jr. @ The Independent, San Francisco, May 20, 2007

Albert Hammond Jr.'s (of The Strokes fame) solo career is off with a bang; the album is amazing and he has a great back-up band. The show as a blast and Albert and the band created a soundscape that made me want to move my feet. I also have to say from a visual point of view the lighting was off the hinges.
