SF Station Blows It Up

1. Nas @ Mezzanine, San Francisco, May 3, 2007

One of hip hop's legends hit the stage last week at Mezzanine and blew the roof off the place. Performing songs from his new album Hip Hop is Dead, Nas showed everyone in the building what a true MC is all about. There was one great surprise at the show when Snoop Dogg walked out to say hello and do a few tunes.

2. Jim James @ Greek Theater, Berkeley, May 4, 2007

The Bright Eyes Cassadaga tour hit the Greek Theater in Berkeley last Friday night with Gillian Welch, Oakley Hall and My Morning Jacket's Jim James doing a special appearance; if you weren’t there, you missed out. Bright Eyes and the band hit the stage in full white suites and the crowd went wild. It was great to see and hear folk and rock mix in the air.

3. Kelis @ Hennessy Artistry Concert, San Francisco, May 8, 2007

The Hennessy Artistry Concert tour presented Kelis this past Tuesday in San Francisco. This free event drew a mixed crowd of true fans, and hipsters trying to get free drinks and some tail. Walking into the event all I could think about was when Kelis was going to hit the stage and kill it. Kelis is one hell of a performer; she channeled Aretha Franklin, Joanne Jet, Blondie and her own fire as she burned the place to the ground.
