SF Station Blows It Up

1. Angie Stone, live onstage @ Mezzanine, San Francisco, January 19, 2006

One of the queens of R&B returned to the stage on a cold night in San Francisco and made us all sweat. Her sultry voice filled the club with lyrics that made everyone sing and dance along. She performed hits from her last 3 albums as well as some upcoming releases that showed her prolific ability to create beauty with words.

2. Emily Haines & The Soft Skeleton, live onstage @ Great American Music Hall, San Francisco, January 22, 2006

Melodic sound filled the Great American Music Hall as I sat down at my table and began to take photos. This was the second to last date of Emily Haines' tour promoting her new album Knives Don't Have Your Back. A sold out crowd of supper fans all got a hell of a treat with Emily hitting the stage with a full band and string section. Emilyís solo album and stage show is a departure from her other band Metric; itís a journey through her life and mind's eye. The visual show accompanying the music is also something to see -- the easiest way to describe it is to go rent the film Le Jette.
