SF Station Blows It Up

1. Raashan Ahmad, MC of Crown City Rockers, Live @ The Independent, June 22nd

Local music is defintely at great new highs as you listen to the beats and lyrics of the East Bay's own Crown City Rockers. Raashan's use of the mic makes you want to dance, dance and dance some more. But there is much more to CCR: live guitar, drums, keys and beats created by four very talented people and you can see their synergy on stage.

2. Ishmael "Butterfly" Butler of The Digable Planets, Live @ The Independent, June 23rd

After an almost 10-year hiatus, these hip hop proteges returned to the stage and they're better then ever. They performed some of their classics from the 90s and some new stuff all while showcasing their jazz influence, hip hop beats and meaningful lyrics. Craig "Doodlebug" Irving,
Ishmael "Butterfly" Butler and Mary Ann "Ladybug" Viera still can bring the house down.

3. Film School, Live on stage Mezzanine June 24th

Indie music is alive and well, at least when Film School is on stage...Mezzanine was definitely the spot to see these boys showcase their
skills.
