SF Station Blows It Up

1. Matt Berninger lead singer of The National @ Mezzanine's Covert Sessions v 1.0 June 13, 2005

Not sure if you know about this spot Mezzanine but it's doing something new. It's now a live music venue and they're doing some cool stuff. Like this Covert Sessions where bands show up and play a covert show as you say. This time it was a Brooklyn-based band called The National, and with their melodic sound these guys made the girls swoon and the boys dance.

2. Blake Sennet‘s of Rilo Kiley live on stage @ The Grand, June 18, 2005

Rilo Kiley's complex pop songs combined with great guitar and drums rocked The Grand. Lead singers Jenny Lewis and Blake Sennet‘s outgoing personality's came through on stage with great flair. The sold out crowed responded with great energy while absorbing the lyrical flow.

3. Embrace live on stage @ The Independent, June 20, 2005

England is the land of rock and here is another import, Embrace. A band that's been around for 9 years with a slew of records in England is now in the US. These guys play stadiums in their home land, but this time they played a 600 person club and still managed to make people jump, jump, jump. With a amazing lead guitar and a drummer that doesn't stop, I think they will take no prisoners.
