SF Station Blows It Up

1. Yaz @ the Paramount Theater, Oakland, July 7, 2008

After a 25-year break from the stage, legendary Yaz hit the stage at Oakland’s Paramount Theater last Monday night. Vince Clarke and Alison Moyet's mere presence made people scream, and once the first tune came on it was beldam. With an amazing light and visual show and a great sound the duo rocked the place, closing the show with “Don’t Go” probably one of their most famous songs.

2. Stevie Wonder @ Sleep Train Pavilion, Concord, July 8, 2008

Stevie Wonder returned to the Bay Area for a run of 2 shows. I got to cover the second show at the Sleep Train Pavilion in Concord. The packed crowd screamed as Stevie hit the stage with his son and daughter who brought him up to his piano and from the first moment his hands touched the keys it was pure joy. Performing hit after hit and even jamming out a few times. It was a great pleasure just to be in the building.

3. Tilly and the Wall @ Great American Music Hall, San Francisco, July 8, 2008

Another brilliant import from Omaha, Nebraska, Tilly and the Walls' energy is something to feel and the live show is most definitely something to see. Last Tuesday night I had the pleasure to enjoy this at the Great American Music Hall where the band played some new tunes from O out on Team Love records. I will say that seeing them over the years, the taping doesn’t get old it just gets better and this time around having a great light show didn’t hurt.
