Stern Grove Festival Reveals Lineup of Free Summer Concerts in the Redwoods

Every Sunday for 10 consecutive weeks, the Stern Grove Festival will host free outdoor concerts, headlined this year by diverse global acts and the children of famous musicians such as Grammy-winning reggae artist Ziggy Marley, Nigerian musician Femi Kuti, as well as British Indian sitar player and composer Anoushka Shankar.

The series of shows begins on June 17 with The Big Picnic, the organization’s annual ticketed fundraiser, which raises nearly $600,000 each year. Other artists on 2018 festival lineup include separate performances by the SF Symphony and the SF Ballet, along with singer-songwriter M. Ward and rock band The Revolution. See below for the full calendar of weekly festival events.

The Big Picnic Party will start at 11:30am before the first free festival concert, with a performance in the afternoon by R&B/soul sensations, Peabo Bryson & Jeffrey Osborne. Big Picnic ticket-holders will receive parking and reserved picnic table seating in the meadow for the concert, while general admission concert meadow lawn seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
