The 8th annual Emissions music festival is headlined by Oakland-born hip-hop MC The Grouch, trap duo Stooki Sound, and glitch-hop act Minnesota. The festival will be taking place May 13-16 in Belden Town, which is about a three and a half hour drive north of San Francisco and just northeast of Chico.
One of the most unique attributes of Emissions is the fact that amplified music plays all night and all day long, marathon style. Its massive lineup also consists of electronic acts that are a bit more underground and unlikely to be recycled at other festivals. Other talents expected to play at Emissions this year include turntablist DJ Q-Bert, Santa Cruz bass music producer G Jones, and Australian electronic duo Slumberjack.
The outdoor celebration of music and community surrounding the rich bass culture in, [but not limited to] California encourages freedom of enjoyment—attendees are encouraged to “be here to enjoy yourself & allow others to as well.”
