Musicians and bands can now apply online to perform at next year’s Noise Pop, San Francisco’s premier yearly festival of independent music, film and art. Those interested the opportunity must visit online music platform Sonicbids to fill out an application by January 5, 2016.

Now in its 24th year, the city-wide and multi-week festival currently attracts more than 20,000 indie music fans and scores of performers. Over 150 alternative bands will play the 2016 edition of Noise Pop in venues around the city, including Swedish American Hall, The Bottom Of The Hill, Bimbo’s 365 Club, and The Great American Music Hall. Five fortunate music acts will be selected by organizers through Sonicbids, and will receive a 30-45 minute set slot and have the option to sell merchandise on-site. They will be supplied with sound equipment (mics, PA’s, monitors), but must provide their own backline like amplifiers for guitars, bass guitars and keyboards. Additional compensation will be negotiated at the time of booking.

Solo artists and full bands of all genres are encouraged to submit, from acoustic to electric. It is preferred that all members of submitting bands are over 21 in age, but this is not a requirement for all venues. The official dates of Noise Pop 2016 are February 19-27, 2016.

Previous iterations of Noise Pop festival have seen performances by artists soon thereafter saw meteoric rises, such as The White Stripes, Death Cab For Cutie, Modest Mouse, Jimmy Eat World, The Flaming Lips, and The Shins.

Other local music activities led by Noise Pop organizers, formally known as Noise Pop Industries, include hosting the annual Treasure Island Music Festival and the 20th Street Block Party, in addition to a recently formed partnership with Culture Collide.
