Four Hot Valentine’s Day Dance Parties

For those looking for new romance or a little more than a romantic dinner for Valentine’s Days this year, there are lots of parties this Thursday to accompany the holiday.

Here are four of our favorites:

Cal Academy of Sciences: Spin the Bottle

Nightlife at the Academy blends animals, cocktails, music and the awkward game that has helped generations of kids get their mack while their parents weren’t looking. Sweet Cheeks DJs Loco and Mawkus set the mood in the coral reef aquarium while the venue’s piazza will feature Hard French DJs Carnita and Brown Amy playing soul music with attendees playing grown-up board games.

W Hotel: Valentine’s Day Dance Party

The downstairs bar at the W Hotel will be transformed into a fabulous, neon environment perfect for an evening of dancing. Expect sexy, euro international house beats, as well as plenty of Top 40 and other club hits with DJs Aykut, Dr T and Youssef with drums by Ammo.

Temple: Ritual Valentine’s Zombie Party

Find your own bloody Valentine at a zombie-themed with dubstep, trap and glitch music in two rooms. Early visitors can enjoy some free popcorn. Ritual will make a small donation to the Bay Area chapter of the American Red Cross, with the money going toward the next local natural disaster.

Public Works: Pumpkin

Los Angeles-based DJ and producer Nicholas “Pumpkin” Alvarado brings a heavy dose of deep house and future electro beats for late-night lovers. Musicians Gravity and Peter Blick are also set to perform in the venue’s other rooms. A $5 champagne deal keeps the party classy all night.
