The third wave of Five Guys’ Bay Area store openings continues this year. Other planned shopping mall locations include: the Belmont Village Shopping Center in Belmont, and Shops on Broadway in Redwood City. A Brentwood location opened in May 8, followed by a Fairfield store in May 30. The Pinole store opening has been delayed again. And 2 more stores will be added in San Jose. So far, burger rival In-N-Out Burger has no plans to expand beyond its 2 local shops, in the city and Daly City.
Five Guys Burgers currently has 1,039 stores, at the same time, 1,500 more locations are in the planning stages, around the country. It’s no wonder the company has earned an impressive reputation in food business news, as the fastest growing restaurant chain in the country. Beating Chipotle’s annual units growth by more than 11%.
