“Movies in McCoppin Square” first debuted in June 2012, as a one month pilot program. The event attracted hundreds of Parkside neighborhood residents, which ensured continued city support. The family friendly movie night series is scheduled every Friday at 8 pm.
This new seasonal (summer-ish) event was organized by a collaboration of District 4 Supervisor Carmen Chu, the Recreation & Parks Department, and the Ocean Avenue and Parkside merchants associations.
Tonight’s family oriented film is a very funny DreamWorks’ animation, “How to Train Your Dragon.” And next week’s scheduled film will be “The Goonies” on September 28.
Remember to bring a blanket to sit on the lawn, and get there early to find a good spot.
