222’s rich history dates back to the ’50s and ’60s when it was the green room named The Three Deuces for Black Hawk Jazz club , and held the company of jazz greats like Miles Davis and John Coltrane. It underwent many renovations through the decades, and most recently opened back up in this past February with even more improvements to house the wide-array of electronic acts it’s now known for. On Tuesdays you’ll find the popular Tutu Tuesdays, which recently celebrated their four-year anniversary, and features the best in local and worldwide techno talents. On Thursdays and Fridays you might events like dubstep/bass talent Appleblim or the local Icee Hot boys throwing down a classic set.
This Friday 9/14, they celebrate the latest incarnation of this historic space. They will feature a variety of DJs like Dirtybird’s Worthy, and Hottub DJs Jaysonik, Kool Karlo, and Vladimir Computin. Don’t miss the complimentary champagne toast at 11pm.
Cover is $10. The party takes place this Friday at 222 Hyde from 10pm – 2am.
