Machine Coffee & Deli, the newest project of Foreign Cinema Chefs/Owners Gayle Pirie and John Clark, just opened its doors on Market Street and offers a nice spot to grab coffee and sandwiches in the burgeoning Mid-Market neighborhood.
Machine Coffee & Deli offers fresh roasted Four Barrel coffee and will soon be adding the sandwich component. The sandwiches will all feature meats cured by Foreign Cinema’s in-house charcutier, Peter Temkin, and will include offerings such as “The Axle,” (roast beef, provolone, spicy rabe and onion jam), “The Crankshaft,” (albacore tuna melt with house pickles and Shelburne cheddar), and “The Roaster,” (smoked turkey club with smoked bacon, cranberry chutney and avocado). Sandwiches are around $10 and coffee beverages are standard Four Barrel prices.
There is patio seating in front of the deli, offering a nice spot to sit and watch the transforming area. Or just grab your food to go and continue on toward downtown shopping, a block away.
