The Claremont Hotel Club & Spa is playing host to Alexander Valley’s own Lancaster Estate Winery for a special wine pairing dinner on Thursday, August 9.
The event will showcase the vintages of Lancaster Estate and Roth Estate wineries featuring Winemaker Jesse Katz as guest of honor. Katz has worked with some of the most well-known winemakers in the country including Paul Hobbs, Robert Foley and Screaming Eagle’s Andy Erickson.
Along with some magnificent wines, the five-course dinner will feature a wide-ranging menu from Claremont Director of Food & Beverage Sean Hubbard and the Claremont culinary team. Below is a look at the menu:
First Course- Heirloom Tomatoes with Arugula, Breakfast Radish and a Grapefruit Reduction
Lancaster Estate 2011 Sauvignon Blanc
Second Course- Duck Confit with Wild Mushrooms and a Pinot & Marion Berry Reduction
Roth Estate 2010 Pinot Noir
Third Course- Crispy Pork Belly with White Corn Polenta, Sunchokes and Plums
Lancaster Estate’s 2006 Sofia Hill Cuvee
Fourth Course- Filet Mignon with Truffled Bone Marrow and Roasted Heirloom Carrots
Lancaster Estate’s 2007 & 2008 Cabernet
Fifth Course- Grilled Peaches in a Bourbon Carmel Sauce with Candied Pecans, Vanilla Mascarpone and Crêpes.
