More Food Truck Jobs

Those who dream of working in the food truck industry should polish their resumes, because more than a dozen local and upcoming Bay Area food trucks are now hiring. See below:

Famous veteran street food vendor The Creme Brulee Cart, has evolved from the original one man push cart into a small business that operates a few modern carts and a cute small food truck, currently parked evenings at Market and Castro. And it just so happens that the truck operator job is open.

If your culinary goal includes working alongside a talented chef. Consider chef William Pilz, who has worked at acclaimed restaurants like Masa’s, Manresa, Fifth Floor, and was the executive chef for Citizen Cake. Get on board, now that he’s trying to bolster the food truck crew for his gourmet Filipino taco truck Hapa SF.

Little Green Cyclo, the Vietnamese food truck who won the Chase Sapphire SF Eaters’ Choice in 2011, has 3 job openings to beef up their workforce and cover more shifts.

Chef Kenny Hockert, owner of Old World Food Truck, a weekly Jewish food pop up at La Victoria Bakery, is currently hiring new staff for his brand food truck. It will be the first Jewish deli on wheels, soon to be roaming the streets of the Mission district.

Another brand new food truck looking for new hires is Espresso Subito. This gourmet espresso drinks truck is a new venture from Gary Goldstein, the owner of local chain Holey Bagel.

Indian street food specialist Curry Up Now has several open jobs for their growing fleet comprised of 5 food trucks, including spots for their 2 new San Mateo restaurants.

Another Indian food merchant, Kasa Indian Eatery urgently needs to hire for both their Castro district restaurant and their Kati Roller truck.

East Bay residents cannot get enough of the gourmet food truck trend, so merchants like Berkeley’s mobile cupcake vendor Cupkates is ramping their production kitchen, Nick’s Wheely Good Breakfast truck in Oakland wants a part time employee for their busy season, and Emeryville’s LIBA Falafel Truck is reinforcing their crew, in preparation to opening a shop in Oakland in the near future.

Several food trucks are also expanding their business into the East Bay, perhaps to escape the city’s truck saturation and increased regulations. Currently hiring East Bay residents are: artisan flatbread sandwich maker Vesta Flatbread, Cuban sandwiches maven Ebbett’s Good to Go, and Asian fried chicken specialist ArKi Truck, while banh mi champion Nom Nom Truck hopes to find a niche in Walnut Creek.

Also hiring are 3 new East Bay trucks in the works: famous meat market chain Kinder’s is in the process of staffing their first BBQ truck; a no name & unknown cuisine gourmet food truck is in the planning stages; and a new Japanese crepes truck is in development.

Lastly, in the South Bay, MoBowl food truck’s hearty Asian style rice bowl meals, like the slow cooked five spice pulled pork, and the vegetarian bowl with grilled Umami tofu, have proven so popular that owner Will needs to hire additional staff, to cover more locations and boost dinner service.
