DJ Lo Down Loretta Brown aka Erykah Badu

Talented musicians are generally well-rounded artists express their creativity in a number of ways. Lately many performers have begun spinning DJ sets, showcasing their talents in superb song selection and energizing the crowd. The latest to join in this trend, RnB crooner Erykah Badu, performs Wednesday night at Ruby Skye.

Erykah Badu is known for her smooth, sultry tunes, and when she gets behind the turntables as DJ Lo Down Loretta Brown it’s no different. She spins a mix of hip hop and soul while incorporating a microphone into her act and often hyping the crowd or singing along with the music. She was the talk of the town in Austin at SXSW for both her live and DJ performances and this past weekend rocked the dance floor at Coachella. Checking her out this early in the game is a smart move as her popularity as a DJ will only continue to grow along with her singing success.

    After reading this I’m even more pissed I didn’t get to see her last night. I waited almost 3 hours for her to come out and I had to go. I guess I’m not a young as I used to be. Someone’s gotta get up and go to work to pay the bills.

    Can someone tell me what time she went on and how off the hook was it?
