Hundreds were in attendance as chefs/restaurants, wine and spirit producers and bars around the Bay Area came together in San Francisco on Thursday night for the 22nd annual Taste of the Nation event to fight childhood hunger.
Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation is one of the premier events across the United States and Canada dedicated to making sure “no kid grows up hungry.” Over 40 events are held in different cities during the spring and summer to raise the needed funds to end childhood hunger.
Participating restaurants and vendors each had a sample dish or cocktail available for those in attendance to try. A “$1 tip” equaled a vote if they thought that item was the best they tasted/drank during the evening. And at the end of the night, the votes were tallied and the people’s choice awards were handed out for best savory (Bar Tartine), best sweet (Boulevard) and best drink (15 Romolo).
Overall, it was a great night of food and drinks for a wonderful cause.
