The mother ship touches down in San Francisco at Yoshi’s tonight with the godfather of funk, George Clinton and his band Parliament Funkadelic. Clinton has reached living legend status with a stage show that is otherworldly, and classics like “Atomic Dog,” “Flashlight,” and “We Want the Funk.” At a recent show at The Warfield, Clinton was accompanied by a roller-girl backup singer, a guitarist in diaper, another guitarist with a Hannibal face mask, and about 20 other people on stage. We’ll have to wait and see what he brings to Yoshi’s, a much smaller venue.
Put some funk in your morning:
George Clinton returns for a sold-out show on Saturday, and for another show on Tuesday. More info
