FACE and Play it Cool return for their second collaborative party at Public Works OddJob Loft, this time featuring the considerable talents of one of modern New York's best disco and house selectors.
Justin Vandervolgen ( Golf Channel / My Rules / NYC )
Based out of Brooklyn, Vandervolgen has grown parallel to the resurgence of underground dance music in New York. In the late-'90s and '00s, he was a member of seminal experimental dance punk outfits !!! and Out Hud. Since then, he's gone on to develop a sound for himself that's rooted in disco re-edit culture and tripped-out house music: His releases on Golf Channel, Keep it Cheap, DFA, and ESP institute all carry a similar aesthetic that's rough, deadly, primitive, and percussive — and that's all while staying rooted in a party rocking disco-obsessed mode. Expect that and more when he takes the reigns at Public Works Saturday July 19th. Trust us, you're not going to want to miss this one.http://soundcloud.com/justin-van-der-volgenhttp://residentadvisor.net/dj/justinvandervolgen
