About

Have you ever had an "AHA!" moment? Well, I have and that is what motivated me to open Zen Therapeutics. I have been a massage junkie for the past 20 years. The massage styles that have benefited me the most during the more stressful times of my life have been Reflexology, Deep Tissue, Sports and Swedish. I started having improved blood circulation which resulted in better sleep, reduced stress, better digestion and improved joint and muscle recovery from my hard bike rides.

I have opened Zen Therapeutics to provide luxurious Reflexology, Deep Tissue, Sports, Swedish massages for the wonderful folks of San Francisco, my hometown. My goal is to give you the best service in a cultivated, elegant, affordable and harmonious spa with California Certified Massage Therapists who are masters at their trait and will understand your needs. So all you athletes, moms, dads, and people in need of tender loving care, come on over to Zen Therapeutics. I promise it will be a life changing experience.

Descriptions and Rates for our "Life Changing Massages"

Reflexology
Reflexology Massage is an ancient therapeutic treatment practiced over 5,000 years ago in Asian and Middle Eastern cultures. The treatment is based on the idea that there are various pressure points located throughout our bodies and are connected to vital body parts such as the heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, reproductive organs and much more. Unlike Swedish and Deep Tissue, clothes are left on during Reflexology Massage sessions. At Zen Therapeutics, we include a fabulous 20 minute back massage during 60 minutes and 30 minutes during 90 minute sessions. 60 Minutes: $49.50     90 Minutes: $69.50

Deep Tissue
The most common misconception is that Deep Tissue Massage hurts. Deep Tissue Massage focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders. When there is chronic muscle tension or injury, there are bands of painful, rigid tissue in muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Deep Tissue Massage works by physically breaking down these adhesions to relieve pain and movement. The massage therapist often uses direct deep pressure or friction applied across the grain of the muscles. 60 Minutes: $59.50     90 Minutes: $79.50

Sports
Sports Massage was originally developed to help athletes prepare their bodies for optimal performance, recover after a sporting event, or respond well to extensive training. But you don't have to be an Olympian to benefit from Sports Massage. It helps people with injuries, chronic pain or restricted range of motion. We also highly recommend Sports Massage for teenage athletes who are active to the point where they are over using their growing bodies. It not only helps their muscles recover from over use but it also prevent injuries. 60 Minutes: $59.50     90 Minutes: $79.50

Swedish
Swedish Massage is one of the most common and popular type of massage. It combines various hands-on techniques including gliding, kneading, and cross-fiber friction to break up muscle knots. Many people find this massage very relaxing and soothing. Swedish Massage is based on the Western concepts of Anatomy and Physiology as opposed to energy work. It can be slow and gentle, or vigorous and bracing, depending on what you want to achieve. 60 Minutes: $59.50     90 Minutes: $79.50 Please be open and communicate your desired pressure with your therapists, so they can adjust to your comfort while achieving tension relief.
