| About Zaré at Fly Trap In summer 2008, Bay Area restaurateur Hoss Zaré bought The Fly Trap, a historic restaurant known for classic Barbary Coast fare. (After moving to San Francisco from Iran in 1986, Zaré ran the kitchen there, so in many ways, Zare’s return to The Fly Trap was a homecoming.) Editorial Review Zaré at Fly Trap Good Food that Sticks By Amy Sherman (02/27/2009)" Long a San Francisco landmark, Fly Trap restaurant in SOMA was bought and reconcepted in 2008 by local restaurateur Hoss Zaré, a chef better known for his Cal-Med cuisine than for any particular penchant toward "Celery Victor" or "Oysters Rockefeller" (both mainstays of the former establishment). Still a reasonable spot for a three-martini lunch, the restaurant is now worthy of foodie attention beyond the nostalgic. Zare's Persian roots shine bright, nudging this restaurant beyond the ho-hum and into the SF fine dining pantheon. " |
Editorial Review Hottest New Restaurants to Hit over the Holidays Eat, Drink and be Merry By Tracie Broom (11/28/2008)" San Francisco is a barrel full of fish -- fabulous, restaurant-shaped fish -- and there's no letting up on the spawning. Come shoot the latest with us! It's holiday time. " |
