Have you always wanted to write a personal essay but you don’t know where to start? Successful journalist, Mark Lukach, will help you transform your bad blind dates and visits from unruly parents into insightful, compelling revelations. In this one-day personal essay workshop, he’ll show you how to make your essay relatable and tantalizing to readers and editors. You’ll learn about the essential elements of a memorable essay, how to structure your essay, and the different types of personal essays. By the end of class, you’ll have begun writing a kick-ass essay and have learned what it takes to get your name in print. You’ll be well on your way to joining the ranks of the 74 Writing Pad Alums who have been published and have gotten paid for their work in publications such as Self, Marie Claire, LA Times, Salon, Spirit Magazine, and New York Magazine!
